Wendell Wallace Scheduled for Weekend Off Following Trip to Texas
(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Wendell Wallace and his #88 Dirt Late Model team traveled south to the pristine Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas over the weekend for the 7th Annual 'Texas World Dirt Track Championship.' The O'Reilly SUPR Late Model Series sanctioned the annual event, which paid $3,500 to the winner on Saturday night, February 27.
Wendell won his heat race to earn a spot towards the front of the 40-lap feature event. He was racing hard inside of the top five in the early stages of the 'Texas World Dirt Track Championship' when a broken A-Frame sent him pitside. The Batesville, Arkansas native wound up a disappointing twentieth in the final rundown at TMS. You can view complete results online at www.suprracing.com.
The #88 team is scheduled to take the upcoming March 5-6 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition, but will return to the track the following weekend. The MARS DIRTcar Series will kick-off their 2010 campaign on March 12-13 at the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee. Friday's event at Clarksville will pay $3,000 to the winner, while Saturday's weekend finale will boast a $5,000 top prize. Wendell is the defending winner of the 'Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic,' as he won both races last year at Clarksville.
